But I like boz little clipper on kicks, there it works great to give some knock.EXPRESSIVE VIRTUAL INSTRUMENTS AND LIVE PERFORMANCE SOFTWARE But it's very clean sounding when used as hardclipper.īoz Little Clipper is also nice (got that one as well), but I wouldn't use it on the Masterbus, as it hasn't any Oversampling going on and I feel that it muddies up the mix (compared to Eventide Saturate for example). I also own StandardCLIP, but personally don't like it that much, it can get somewhat tubby sounding, which I don't like. I know lots of you guys just slap Fruity Softclipper on the Masterbus and are done, but I personally like to try out new stuff to get an overall better sound. Yesterday I chose Eventide on the Drumbus (where i group all drums and the 808 and process em together with slightly compression and some Softclipping) and T-Racks on the Masterbus, because I liked what T-Racks clipper did to the Bass (tightened it up nicely).

The free Gclip can give a certain crunch, which also can be great of you want some distortion and crunch to your mix. T-Racks gives a very tight Bass, which is great. The Eventide one is the most transparent, so it doesn't change the sound of your mix very much. They all sound a bit different and have their places but I personally like T-Racks Softclipper, GClip (free) and Saturate by Eventide. Proper feedback is not "Dope track bro, k do me next." Try to give constructive criticism.īeen testing all kinds of clippers (they usually do both, soft and hard clipping).
